Hullo Spring!

It's the second day of of my favourite month of year, and I'm loving it so far! March always brings later sunsets, warmer weather & my birthday (yay!), and it hasn't disappointed thus far. I've decided to hold off writing a list for March, as I usually get tied up with events preceding my birthday on the 22nd, so I don't want to set myself up to fail already!

I've started 2 great projects that should occupy me through the month:
Dawn & Emily's String-a-long 2010, and Ali's Sew-along - both are off to a great start!
I've cast on for the Elisa nest tote, and I'm loving the way it's turning out already:
For week 2 of the Sew-along, Ali showed us how to cut out our fabric, plus arrange our darts & interfacing. She also sung the praises of the humble rotary cutter, so much so that I've bought one! And a self-healing mat to match! Photos to follow once Mr Postman delivers it...
So given that I'm not writing a to-do list for March, those are my ongoing projects.
What are your already WIP projects for March?!

  3. - that's funny, I've tried using a rotary cutter and I always feel like it gets away from me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I always end up back with my scissors.

  5. I signed up for her sew-along too, and haven't even had a chance to get started! You are off to a great start though, I can't wait to see the finished product!

  7. I love the orange yarn! I wanted to be part of the sew along but realized all my WIP--a baby quilt, a few (amateur) paintings for some birthday gifts, and bridal shower decorations (fabric garland mostly). The next one for sure--still following along--I like the purple fabric, too!

  8. Amy, just finished mine last night and will post about it on the Monday update. I was just here to tell you that the top opening is a bit small (as someone said in the comments on the original pattern site) so if you're not that far on make sure you pick up loads of stitches around the top edge!!

  9. I have never had the desire to knit, but that picture of the orange yarn against the green needle has come closest anything ever has to making me change my mind.

  10. How are you getting on with the rotary cutter? I always think I'll take my finger off if I get one!
