(Completely cheese-tastic. I think I'm just SO excited at looking tanned!)
It was either this photo, or my Facebook profile picture avec glass of wine in hand. And I don't want to be portrayed as one of of those people who only has photos taken when they're drinking... OK so it's very rare to find me in front of a camera without having had a glass (or two). I don't usually like having my photo taken at all! I'm much happier behind a camera, though it did make finding a nice photo of me at all a touch difficult...
Anyway shall we begin?
My name's Amy and I hail from Kent in South East England. I was raised in one semi-rural part of the county but now live in another VERY-rural part of it with my boyfriend of 6 years, Ben. And yes 6 years is a long time, and yes, the number of "are you engaged yet" questions I get increases on a daily basis. He'll get round to it when he can find a ring that meets my exacting standards. Ha!
We live in a little cottage of 4 converted stables (converted by the aforementioned Ben) on Ben's parents' land, with our dog Mia and our cat Olive. It's pretty remote but the views and un-light-polluted starry nights make it worth it!
I started this blog in January 2010 as an outlet for my creative endeavours; I'd just changed jobs from a super-duper exciting fashion job in London, to a better-paid yet achingly boring job in the Kent countryside. Having read blogs since 2005 I wanted to get my opinion out there, although I know from experience how easy it is to just be a "lurker", reading blogs without ever commenting...who would want to read what I have to say?
My posts cover everything from my latest sewing project, my favourite shopping finds, sharing link love from other bloggers, and generally maintaining a crafty sense of purpose. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing something and then working out how to a) make something similar b) adapt it into something more suited to my needs.
As a type this I'm currently on a gap year, but plan to be coming home for late September 2011. If you're planning any exciting crafty things in Kent/London, please contact me!
